On-Site Work Projects
Here are some opportunities for service that you can participate in during your time at Door of Faith. These are just a sampling of the types of activities available to you--there are many ways you can bless our kids and our community.
BBQ With Our Kids
Our cooks prepare more than 400 meals per day. By making breakfast, lunch or dinner, your group can give our cooks a much-deserved break! When you commit to prepare a meal, we ask that you do everything: cook, serve, and clean up afterward. Our team will assist you in setting up and answer any questions that you have. You should plan enough food for about 200 people (DOFO kids, staff and volunteers) plus however many are in your group. Typically, groups bring the following items when preparing lunch or dinner:
Lunch or dinner BBQ:
- Meat (Hot dogs, hamburgers)
- Buns
- Condiments (Mayo, Ketchup)
- Fruit (Apples, Bananas, Oranges, Watermelon, etc.)
- Desert
- Chips
- Drinks (box drinks, powdered drink mix)
- Paper goods (plates, cups, napkins, utensils)
- Charcoal
- Lighter Fluid
Another option for lunch or dinner is to sponsor a pizza party. We can arrange for a local pizzeria to make pizzas on site at the orphanage--always a popular event with our kids! Please contact us about pricing.
Having Fun with Our Kids
Our kids are our first priority here at Door of Faith and no matter what you accomplish during your stay, the most important thing you can do is love on our kids.
